Hickman Residence

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

The Hickman residence, starting with an effort to balance budget with the desire to make a design statement as the architect’s own home, resulted in a simple floor plan with a contemporized ‘Shingle Style’ exterior.  Strong gable roof elements and simple geometry further enhance the design.  The main level plan is very open, allowing individual rooms to share space and maximize views to the south.  Large areas of south-facing glazing also provide passive solar heating during the winter months.
